Mission & Purpose

Nurturing Beginnings Montessori is a not-for-profit organisation supporting mothers, babies and families through the earliest and most formative stage of life.

We exist to make high-quality early years guidance, parent support and community connection more accessible — especially during the vulnerable transition into motherhood, when families can benefit deeply from trusted information, social connection and compassionate support.

Our work is grounded in authentic Montessori principles, early childhood development, and respect for the mother–baby relationship.

We believe every family deserves access to calm, evidence-informed support that strengthens confidence, connection and wellbeing from the beginning.

When mothers are supported, babies benefit. When families feel connected, communities become stronger. And when support is accessible early, it can have a lasting impact across childhood, family life and the wider community.

At the heart of our work is a simple truth:

When we nurture mothers, we nurture the beginning of life.

Approach

What grounds our work

Authentic Montessori
Our work is grounded in a genuine understanding of Montessori for the first years of life, including respect for the child, observation, the prepared environment, and support for natural development.

We offer guidance that is practical, respectful and grounded in real life with babies — helping parents better understand their child while strengthening confidence in their own role.

Accessibility
We work to make early parenting support more accessible through fully-funded places, not-for-profit delivery, and community-based programs that meet families where they are.

Because our facilitated groups are intentionally small and carefully held, places are limited. This allows us to protect the quality of the experience, support meaningful connection, and offer each family a calm and thoughtful environment.

Community
Support is offered in small, welcoming group settings where mothers can learn, reflect, and connect with others in the same season of life.

We also create pathways for broader community connection, helping families build relationships that can continue beyond a single program or session.

Values

Respect

We honour babies as capable human beings, mothers as the experts on their own families, and the mother–baby relationship as something deeply worth protecting.

This respect shapes every interaction, every conversation, and every layer of support we offer.

Trust

We are committed to guidance that is clear, trustworthy, and grounded in early development.

We want mothers to leave feeling more informed, more confident, and less overwhelmed by the noise of conflicting advice.

Care

We create support that is gentle, compassionate and responsive to real life in the early months.

Our aim is to offer care in a way that helps mothers feel held, supported and able to exhale.

Access

We believe meaningful early parenting support should not be limited by a family’s capacity to pay.

Our fully-funded programs are designed to reduce barriers to participation and strengthen access to support during a stage of life that matters deeply for babies, parents and communities.

Our facilitated program places are fully funded and limited. Register your interest and we’ll be in touch when a suitable place becomes available.
