About
Mission & Purpose
Nurturing Beginnings Montessori is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting new and expecting mums — and their babies — through the earliest months of life.
Our mission is simple: to ensure every family has access to social, emotional, and practical support, evidence-based guidance, and genuine connection in community.
We believe every mother deserves to feel safe, supported, and empowered with clear, trustworthy information.
When a mum feels held by her village, she becomes naturally more open, more curious, and more attuned to her baby’s cues. In this grounded state, learning unfolds with ease and caregiving choices align more naturally with her values.
At the heart of our work is a simple truth: when we look after mothers, mothers can more deeply look after their babies.
By nurturing mums, helping them look after themselves, and supporting them to care for one another, we strengthen the very beginning of family life — where healthy relationships and lifelong wellbeing take root.
Approach
What grounds our work
Authentic Montessori
Our work is grounded in a genuine understanding of Montessori for the first years of life, including respect for the child, observation, the prepared environment, and support for independence and development.
Accessibility
We make this support more accessible through a not-for-profit model, practical guidance, and approaches that families can apply in real life across different financial circumstances and home environments.
Community
Support is offered in small, welcoming group settings where mothers can learn, reflect, and connect with others in the same season of life.
Values
Respect
We honour babies as capable human beings, mothers as the experts on their own families, and the mother–baby relationship as something deeply worth protecting. This respect shapes every interaction, every conversation, and every layer of support we offer.
Trust
We are committed to guidance that is clear, trustworthy, and grounded in early development. We want mothers to leave feeling more informed, more confident, and less overwhelmed by the noise.
Care
We create support that is gentle, compassionate, and responsive to real life in the early months. Our aim is to offer care in a way that helps mothers feel held, supported, and able to exhale.
