Our Guide at Nurturing Beginnings Montessori

At the heart of every Nurturing Beginnings Circle is a simple truth: when parents feel supported, calm, and confident, babies flourish.

That spirit is embodied in Sarah Breckenridge, our Lead Guide and the founder of Prepared Parenting — a personal consultancy offering tailored guidance to parents during the first three years of their child’s life.

Sarah brings over four decades of experience supporting children and families, along with a presence that parents often describe as grounding, warm, and deeply reassuring.

“Parents often feel they should already have the answers — but there is no single ‘right’ way to raise a child. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance that helps you trust your instincts and rediscover joy in the process.”

A Lifetime of Nurturing

Sarah’s professional journey began as a paediatric nurse, where she supported children and families through both joyful and challenging times. Her lifelong curiosity about how babies learn, connect, and grow led her to train as an AMI Montessori 0–3 Director and earn a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

She is also an experienced postpartum doula, blending practical care with emotional support — helping parents build confidence in those early months that can feel both beautiful and bewildering.

Her approach draws from:

  • Montessori pedagogy, recognising the baby as capable, curious, and deserving of respect from birth

  • Neuroscience and child development research, translated into calm, practical wisdom

  • Decades of real-life experience, both as a professional and as a mother of two grown sons

Wisdom Rooted in Compassion

In a world overflowing with advice, programs, and “how-tos,” Sarah offers something far more valuable — presence. She helps parents tune into what truly matters: slowing down, observing their child, and finding ease in the simple moments of connection.

“Sometimes what parents need most isn’t another instruction — it’s permission to pause, breathe, and trust themselves.”

At this stage in her life, Sarah describes herself as an elder in the parenting space — bringing insight, steadiness, and gentle humour to her work. Her presence in the circle reminds us that wisdom doesn’t rush; it listens, notices, and meets each moment with care.

In the Circle

In our Nurturing Beginnings Montessori Circles, Sarah creates a calm, welcoming space for parents and babies to slow down, connect, and learn together. Each 90-minute session blends her Montessori expertise with compassionate discussion, practical support, and time for observation — helping you to understand your baby’s unfolding development and your own evolving role as a parent.

Parents leave feeling lighter, more confident, and often surprised by how much can change simply by seeing their child through new eyes.

In Sarah’s words:

“You are the most important influence in your child’s life. When you feel supported and seen, you can offer your child the connection and security they need to thrive.”
