Week 4, 2025 Newsletter
Hi lovely mums,
Each week, we bring a small piece of Montessori into the rhythm of everyday life — not as one more thing to do, but as a gentle invitation to see your child, and your environment, through a lens of trust and possibility.
This week, we explored the idea of the prepared environment — not perfection, just thoughtful adjustment. A space shaped around your child, so they can explore from a place of safety and belonging.
Montessori at Home: Key Reflections
Accessible & child-sized
Little tables, chairs, shelves… Anywhere they are meant to be, something there should say “this is for you.”
Order & simplicity
Predictability helps a child under three feel safe. Less gives them room to focus more deeply.
Freedom of movement & choice
Your child is not a guest in your home. Create spaces they can meaningfully join — a chair at the dinner table, a low shelf in the lounge, a safe pathway to move.
Adapt as they grow
What works at 6 months won’t work at 10. From arms ➝ rolling ➝ crawling ➝ walking — check the space with fresh eyes.
Beauty & nature
What feels calm to you (light, colour, materials) will feel calming to them. Natural elements build connection with the world.
Real-life tools
Glass, wood, metal — handled with guidance — help refine coordination and build true competence. (Plastic has its place, just not all the places.)
Try this small challenge this week…
Get down to your child’s eye level and look around.
What do they see?
Is it beautiful? Safe? Inviting? Easy to reach?
Often the biggest shift comes from the smallest height.

A final note…
The way you’re engaging with these reflections — even just by reading them — is shaping something bigger with us.
This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about noticing, softening, and allowing space for what already wants to grow.
Thank you for being part of this early journey with such openness.
