Local Mother’s Groups

Facilitated Weekly Mother-Baby Groups

A professionally guided space for new mums to connect, feel supported, and better understand their baby in the early months.

The early months with your baby are tender, transformative and often overwhelming. Our Mother’s Groups offer a steady, nurturing space where you can slow down, build community, and feel supported during this foundational stage of motherhood.

Nurturing Beginnings is a not-for-profit initiative working to make high-quality early parenting support more accessible to families. Our sessions are currently fully funded, so families can attend without cost.

Because each group is carefully facilitated, intentionally small, and thoughtfully prepared, places are limited. We invite families to register their interest so we can offer available places as fairly and thoughtfully as possible.

Each group is guided by an AMI-trained 0–3 Montessori educator, offering a rare opportunity to be supported by someone deeply grounded in the Montessori approach — providing guidance that is evidence-based, respectful of your baby’s natural development, and grounded in real life with a baby.

Our Approach

We weave together:

  • Evidence-informed developmental guidance

  • Practical, compassionate support

  • Authentic Montessori principles

  • A mother-led, community-centred philosophy

  • The presence of an AMI 0-3 guide to ensure what you learn is trustworthy, respectful and grounded

Our circles grow and evolve with the people in them. Mothers shape the space. Babies set the pace. The guide offers steady hands and gentle structure — not a rigid curriculum.

What we do

Weekly In-Person Gatherings

A gentle, rhythmical space to slow down, exhale, and feel truly supported.
Each session includes:

  • conversation grounded in what real mothers are navigating that week

  • insights into your baby’s development and simple ways to support them

  • time to observe, connect, and be with your baby in a calm, prepared environment

  • opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance when you want it

These gatherings are not classes. They are support circles — shaped by the mothers in the room, week by week.

Because places are fully funded and group sizes are limited, we ask families who are offered a place to attend as consistently as they are able. This helps protect the quality of the experience for everyone and ensures funded places are used well.

Ongoing Community Support

Between sessions, you’ll have access to a broader private community of mothers in your local area.
This space:

  • makes it easy to stay connected

  • offers a place to share questions, experiences and encouragement

  • is overseen by your AMI guide to ensure safety, respect and trustworthy information

It’s mother-to-mother support with the scaffolding and safety of professional oversight.

Community Events & Gatherings

Throughout the year, families are invited to gentle community meet-ups designed to build relationships, reduce isolation, and strengthen local networks of support.
No pressure, no performance — just connection, kindness and real-life support.

Fully-funded places are limited. Register your interest and we’ll be in touch when a suitable place becomes available.

Our Facilitators

  • “The group is the only place I’ve genuinely felt like both mum and baby have a space where they are held together. Other support often feels focused on one or the other.”

  • “It has been amazing to connect with other mums, and the facilitator’s insight has been amazing.”

  • “A mums group with no pressure is such a good space for new mums. I look forward to going each week and sharing experiences with other first-time mums.”

  • “I would highly recommend Nurturing Beginnings to all mums. It is run very professionally, and the mums are like-minded and understanding.”

  • “The hardest part postpartum was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, not knowing where to look for support, and finding the confidence to ask for help while caring for my baby.”

  • “Knowing what advice to trust is hard when there is so much conflicting information. It would be wonderful for there to be more Nurturing Beginnings groups.”
